The Record – Christie as keynote GOP speaker: A proud moment for N.J.
August 14, 2012THE PEOPLE of New Jersey should take pride that Governor Christie has been selected to deliver the keynote address at the Republican convention in two weeks.
The last time anyone from the Garden State held such a lofty status was 20 years ago. Christie will deliver a message of hope to all Americans who see the need for change after four years under President Obama.
While Trenton Democrats would rather use this as an opportunity to criticize and downplay the governor’s bipartisan accomplishments, the rest of us should be proud that the country now sees New Jersey not as the punch line of late night talk shows, but rather as a state that solves its problems.
