South Plainfield Councilman Rob Bengivenga and financial services professional Lisa Goldhamer today announced they will run for State Assembly on a ticket with East Brunswick Mayor and State Senate Candidate David Stahl.

The Republicans are running against Assemblyman Peter Barnes (D-18), the state Senate candidate; Assemblyman Pat Diegnan (D-18), and East Brunswick Councilwoman Nancy Pinkin.

“When I was first elected local spending was out of control, small businesses were closing their doors and families and seniors were being straddled with massive increases to their property taxes,” said Bengivenga, a 30-year-old marketing and sales professional. “I kept my promise to the voters in South Plainfield by cutting spending, promoting small business job growth and lowering property taxes.”
