TRENTON — Former Gov. Jon Corzine has not made any public appearances lately, but New Jersey Republicans are not letting voters forget about him.

The Republican State Committee today launched a website, CorzineDemocrats.com, that includes a countdown clock to count “the days that Corzine Democrats have blocked a tax cut for New Jersey’s middle and working class families.”

The clock is just below a photo of Corzine standing with state Sen. Barbara Buono (D-Middlesex), Gov. Chris Christie’s likely Democratic opponent, and state Sen. Nelli Pou (D-Passaic).

“With New Jersey families among the most overtaxed in the nation, only the Corzine Democrats in Trenton would block bipartisan efforts to cut taxes for our state’s middle and working class families,” Ben Sparks, a spokesman for the Republican State Committee, said in a statement. “The NJGOP will be keeping count and making it crystal clear to New Jersey families of every day, hour, minute, and second that Corzine Democrats are denying them the tax cut they deserve.”
