N.J.’s June tax collections meet Christie target

New Jersey tax collections during the month of June met Governor Christie’s lowered targets, according to data released Thursday by the state Department of Treasury.

The state collected nearly $3 billion in June, just about $50 million more than was projected when Treasury officials lowered the official revenue forecast in May.

For the fiscal year that ended on June 30, tax collections came in less than 1 percent above the administration’s lowered forecast.

Overall revenues grew by more than 6 percent over the prior fiscal year.
