Trenton, NJ – Following the newly released shocking video of now former Port Authority Commissioner Caren Turner, NJGOP Chairman Steinhardt released the following statement:

“Liberals like Senator Loretta Weinberg and disgraced former Port Authority Commissioner and former Corzine and Clinton finance committee member, Caren Turner, fancy themselves champions of New Jersey’s working class, at least when they know we’re watching. But what happens when they think we’re not looking? In those moments, their elitist character rears its ugly head. That is what happened in Tenafly with Caren Turner as she berated two officers for doing nothing more than their jobs.

“The 16 minute tirade that Caren Turner laced on the two Tenafly Police Officers was appalling. All of New Jersey should be embarrassed by her behavior, as Turner claims in one breath to supervise more than 4,000 Port Authority police officers, and in another screams profanities at them. It’s been two days since this was publicly reported, but still, no comment from the normally outspoken Senator Weinberg, who initially recommended Turner for the Port and shepherded her through the appointment process.

“The NJGOP is grateful for the men and women of law enforcement. I am grateful to have this platform as Chairman of the NJGOP to express how much we appreciate New Jersey’s brave and dedicated police forces and first responders. The two, Tenafly police officers conducted themselves with professionalism and integrity in the face of a screaming bully. We are lucky to have so many dedicated men and women of law enforcement watching over our families.”
