Four days after a high-level Democratic staffer revealed that state lawmakers in Trenton improperly created a multimillion dollar program to fund their pet projects without any oversight from the public or State Treasurer during sworn testimony at the Wayne Bryant corruption trial, State Senator John Adler has still failed to fully disclose whether he illegally controlled any taxpayer dollars from that fund, and if so, where he directed those dollars to be spent, charged decorated combat veteran and job-creating businessman Chris Myers (NJ-3).

Senator Kevin O'Toole (R-40) introduced legislation today that would prevent sports teams in New Jersey from selling personal seat licenses ("PSL"). The bill is a direct result of plans by the New York Giants and New York Jets football franchises to charge season ticket holders a PSL fee upward of $25,000 for the right to buy season tickets. The proposed bill would ban the Giants, Jets and any other team in the state from requiring fans to purchase PSLs.

Senator Joe Kyrillos, the Senior Republican Member of the Senate Economic Growth Committee, introduced legislation yesterday that will require the Department of Environmental Protection to update the New Jersey Shore Protection Master Plan. The current plan has been in effect since 1981. New Jersey has 127 miles of coastline and the state’s tourism industry generates more that $38 billion in economic activity and more than $ 2 billion in revenue for the state treasury.

Republican Senator Joe Pennacchio, (R-Morris/Passaic), sent a letter asking Governor Corzine to release a complete account of how the state pension funds decided to invest $178 million in Lehman Brothers, a now bankrupt Wall Street investment bank. The state pensions reportedly lost at least $115 million on the investment in just three months. Many investors refused to participate in the failed bailout because of the high risks involved.

The words “mass transit” or “transportation” don’t appear at all in Adler’s so-called plan.
