State cash revenues up 6.8% over a year ago

TRENTON – State cash revenues for the 13-month period ending July 31 were up 6.8 percent over a year ago, according to figures released by the Department of Treasury.
In that time, gross income tax receipts rose 12.6 percent and sales tax receipts were up 4.1 percent, while corporation business tax receipts dipped 2.1 percent, according to the figures. Sales tax collections totaled $798 million in July 2013 and gross income tax collections were up almost $97 million from 2012.
