Chris Christie destroys Democratic opponent …with kindness [VIDEO]

Up more than 25 percentage points over his Democratic opponent, Chris Christie would have to admit to being a secret member of al Qaida to possibly lose New Jersey’s gubernatorial race.
During Tuesday night’s debate with Democratic state Sen. Barbara Buono, Christie demonstrated his razor-sharp political skills. In one memorable exchange, the usually boisterous Republican governor killed his opponent with kindness.
Debate moderator Kristine Johnson asked both Christie and Buono to name something each likes about the other. Speaking first, Buono provided feint praise.
“Well, he’s good on late-night TV, he’s just not so good in New Jersey,” she quipped.
Unfazed by the not-so-subtle insult, Christie then praised Buono as a good and decent public servant, looking as sincere as any human possibly could.
“She’s obviously a good and caring mother and someone who cares deeply about public service in this state because she’s dedicated a lot of her life to it,” Christie said. “And while we have policy disagreements, Kristine, I would never denigrate her service. And I think we need more people who care enough about our communities to be able to stand up and do the job that she’s done over the last 20 years.”
