NJGOP Chairman: Voters Deserve To Know Where LD25 Candidates Bhimani and Draeger Stand On New Murphy Tax Increases

Trenton, NJ – NJGOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt released the following statement calling on District 25 Assembly Candidates Lisa Bhimani and Darcy Draeger to outline their position on Governor Phil Murphy’s newest, 2019 tax hikes:

“As a State Senate candidate last year, Lisa Bhimani called for a veto-proof Democratic majority to advance Phil Murphy’s big-spending, liberal agenda in Trenton, which included free college, free healthcare and a bevy of taxpayer-funded giveaways to political cronies. Now, after raising taxes on New Jersey’s hard-working families and businesses over $1 billion just six months ago, the Governor says that higher taxes could be on the way in 2019. As some of the first Democratic candidates to announce their 2019 campaigns for State Assembly, Lisa Bhimani and Darcy Draeger need to answer for the Governor’s proposed tax increases. Where do they stand? Are they willing to add to New Jerseyans’ already unbearable tax burden or tell us the specific programs they’d cut to fund their big spending agenda in Trenton?”
