Trenton, NJ – After the publication of today’s shocking investigation by NJ Advance Media, the NJGOP calls for the appointment of a Special Prosector to conduct an independent and impartial investigation into the Murphy Administration’s failures to protect the State’s most vulnerable.

“This issue is too important for Governor Murphy to whitewash,” said Chairman Steinhardt. “Thousands of lives have been needlessly taken and we cannot leave this investigation in complicit hands. The Governor’s self-identified consultants and appointed Attorney General are not sufficiently neutral to ensure justice and transparency to the families who lost loved ones at New Jersey’s more than 600 long term care facilities. These circumstances demand a Special Prosecutor.”
