NJGOP Statement on Juneteenth

Trenton, NJ – New Jersey Republican State Committee Chairman Doug Steinhardt released the following statement in honor of Juneteenth:

“On this day, we join together as a nation to recognize Juneteenth, a celebration of African American freedom and the ending of slavery.

“This particular Juneteenth anniversary should serve as more than a day of celebration. I hope everyone will join me by taking time today for reflection and education on the last 155 years, and the current state of race relations in this country. There is still much work to do, and the NJGOP is committed to furthering the ideals of a united nation where every community is treated with equal respect and afforded an equal opportunity to achieve the American dream.”
