Earlier this month, the NJGOP launched ”Murphy Exposed,” to expose Governor Murphy’s weak, ineffective, non-transparent, dictatorial and hypocritical management of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of Governor Murphy’s failures, 9 million New Jerseyans have endured crushing unemployment and the senseless deaths of 6,300 vulnerable nursing home patients and counting.
Today, we are updating our “Murphy Exposed” website with information that State Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli offered to resign over leaks to the media from anonymous employees in her office who have criticized her response to the coronavirus outbreak, according to recorded conversations.
New Jersey Republican State Committee Chairman Doug Steinhardt offered the following comment:
“Shame on Phil Murphy for pressuring the Health Commissioner to terminate her entire staff in the middle of a pandemic over media leaks. When the Governor’s political reputation is in jeopardy, he jumps to action, but where has this sense of urgency been to form a real plan in response to COVID-19? Perhaps if Murphy put as much focus into keeping COVID out of nursing homes as he does his PR, there would be less for his unsettled employees to blow the whistle on.”
