Last week’s announcement regarding the launch of the NJGOP Election Integrity Task Force prompted a puzzling hostile reaction from Democrat leaders across New Jersey. Considering that voters of all political affiliations support fair, secure and transparent elections, it is troubling that state and local Democrats would oppose efforts aimed at improving the election process and strengthening public confidence. Why does the concept of election integrity provoke such hostility from Democrat leaders?
It was just two weeks ago that Governor Sherrill’s hand-picked Attorney General Jennifer Davenport stated that her office was “determined to ensure elections are fair and that their outcomes are determined by the will of the voters” following the guilty plea by a Democratic mayoral candidate for forging and submitting 1000 fraudulent voter registration forms in an effort to swing an election. Do the same state and county Democrat chairs now consider AG Davenport a MAGA-conspiracy theorist?
In addition to dismissing valid concerns about election integrity, these Democratic leaders made misleading statements about the voting process that demonstrates a lack of understanding as to how New Jersey’s election system actually operates. Voter registration laws, policies and regulations are established by Democrats in the Legislature and administered through the New Jersey Division of Elections under the Secretary of State.
Election integrity should not be a partisan issue. Democrats and Republicans alike should welcome any effort that strengthens public trust and ensures that every legal vote is counted fairly and accurately. Protecting the integrity of our elections should unite voters and elected officials across party lines, not divide them. There are clearly outstanding issues that need to be addressed, and the NJGOP supports taking a proactive approach to ensure elections are fair and outcomes are determined by the will of New Jersey voters.

COLTS NECK, N.J. ⎯ New Jersey Republican Chairwoman Christine Giordano Hanlon announced the formation of an Election Integrity Task Force to research, identify, and fight for solutions to address irregularities in our election systems throughout New Jersey.
“Like many New Jerseyans, election integrity is of utmost importance to me. All Americans want free, fair and secure elections and a system that maintains the public trust,” Chairwoman Hanlon said. “The NJGOP Election Integrity Task Force will work to help ensure that New Jersey’s elections are securely and fairly administered and help safeguard the integrity of the process.”
The NJGOP’s Election Integrity Task Force is comprised of Republican elections officials and election law experts from throughout the state. The Task Force will complement the Republican National Committee’s ongoing election integrity efforts in New Jersey.
Voting irregularities made headlines in New Jersey last week as the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced four new cases against non-citizens illegally voting in federal elections in New Jersey.
“How were non-citizens able to vote, and how did they end up on the voter rolls in New Jersey in the first place?” Chairwoman Hanlon said. “The Election Integrity Task Force could not come at a better time. I am proud to lead this group of Republicans to ensure fair elections for all New Jerseyans.”

“Governor Sherrill just marked 100 days as governor, and sadly, we are no better off now than we were when she assumed office. Indeed, the governor has only exacerbated our state’s affordability crisis which continues to shatter the American Dream for New Jerseyans.
Gov. Sherrill’s whopping $60.7 billion budget is the largest in state history, despite New Jersey staring at a $3 billion deficit, one of today’s biggest budget gaps nationwide. With no plan to fund this record spending, New Jersey taxpayers will be forced to foot the bill once again while struggling more than ever, just like they have the last eight years.
Aside from continuing to pay the highest property taxes in the country, New Jersey families face an energy crisis marked by some of the highest energy costs in the country. Our schools remain underfunded based on an unjust funding formula that the governor is upholding, and families face out-of-reach home prices and soaring inflation. Further, seniors were not only deprived of tax relief by Gov. Sherrill’s budget proposal, but they are now being forced to move out of New Jersey in record numbers because the state has become unaffordable after years of Democrat control.
Considering all this, it is unfortunate that Gov. Sherrill has made it clear that she has no intention of putting forth substantive solutions to problems that face New Jersey. Rather, she and Trenton Democrats are more interested in performative gestures that raise her national profile while ignoring the struggle of New Jersey families.
Republicans are committed to fighting for policies that will make New Jersey affordable, restore funding to our schools, take care of our seniors, and provide opportunities for residents to thrive. COLTS NECK, New Jersey – It’s Tax Day in America, and Americans across the country are seeing the benefits of the Working Families Tax Cuts Act passed by Republicans in Congress and signed by President Trump. The average tax refund is up significantly this year by nearly 11%, while average refunds are the largest on record at approximately $3600. In addition, more than 5.2 million taxpayers benefited from “No Tax on Tips” and overtime provisions, resulting in working Americans seeing more money in their paychecks.
“The Working Families Tax Cuts is providing sorely-needed tax relief to New Jersey families,” said New Jersey Republican Chairwoman Christine Giordano Hanlon. “Thanks to President Trump and our New Jersey Republican Congressmen Tom Kean, Jr., Chris Smith and Jeff Van Drew, New Jerseyans are keeping more of their hard-earned money.” New Jersey residents have also been positively impacted by the 300% cap increase on state and local tax (SALT) deductions, which has brought real relief for taxpayers from skyrocketing state property taxes during nearly a decade of Democratic control.
The child tax credit was also raised based on rising inflation so that it keeps pace with costs. Republicans have also made raising a family more affordable by establishing new investment accounts for children and expanding 529 education savings accounts. “This landmark legislation not only prevented looming tax hikes, but it also provided major tax relief, especially for working families in New Jersey,” Hanlon added. “Unfortunately, Democrats in Trenton are going in the wrong direction when it comes to taxes, but they should take note. With the right leadership, it is possible to provide tax relief!”

COLTS NECK, New Jersey — The New Jersey Republican Party announced dates for a statewide Leadership Summit in 2026, the first under the direction of Chairwoman Christine Giordano Hanlon.
The event, which will bring together elected officials, candidates, policy experts, grassroots leaders and community stakeholders, will take place at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City from September 18 through 19, 2026.
“This summit represents a step forward for restoring the American Dream for all New Jerseyans,” said Chairwoman Hanlon. “Under Democratic leadership in Trenton, New Jersey residents have for too long been burdened by policies that have driven up costs, pushed out families and stifled economic growth. The NJGOP is proud to bring together leaders, candidates and activists from across the state to address these issues and prepare for victory in the 2026 election cycle.
“The September Summit is aimed at building momentum for Republicans heading into the critical mid-term November elections,” Chairwoman Hanlon added.
