NJGOP Chairman Samuel Raia Applauds Governor Christie’s Veto of Higher Taxes in Signing FY 2015 Budget

June 30, 2014

NJGOP Chairman Sam Raia issued the following statement after Governor Christie today vetoed Trenton Democrats’ tax hikes and signed a balanced budget for Fiscal year 2015 into law:

“I commend Governor Christie for his actions today to veto higher taxes and instead, make the tough but fiscally responsible decisions in signing his FY 2015 Budget. The reality is that we can no longer afford to ignore the long-term consequences of our state’s spending problem and rely on the already overburdened taxpayers of New Jersey to foot the bill. Today’s actions once again, show Governor Christie’s commitment to building a better New Jersey by investing in education, health care, and job creation while also protecting New Jerseyans from Democrats’ failed tax and spend agenda.”
