POINT PLEASANT – Point Pleasant Borough Mayor William G. Schroeder this afternoon endorsed the re-election of Gov. Chris Christie.

The endorsement marks the thirteenth Democrat mayor and thirty-second Democratic elected official to endorse Governor Christie.

“Governor Christie’s response to the devastation of Superstorm Sandy represents the type of leader the Governor has been and the strong leadership New Jersey needs to keep moving in a positive direction,” said Schroeder. “His partnership with me and mayors throughout the shore region has enabled us to better serve our communities and meet the needs of our residents. Governor Christie has been a partner and leader for every part of our state, regardless of politics or party, in order to put New Jerseyans first. For that, I am proud to stand with Governor Christie and endorse him for re-election.”

Along with Sea Bright Mayor Dina Long and Long Branch Mayor Adam Schneider, Schroeder is the third shore-area Democratic mayor to endorse Christie for re-election.
