New Jersey tax collections during the month of June met Governor Christie’s lowered targets, according to data released Thursday by the state Department of Treasury.

The state collected nearly $3 billion in June, just about $50 million more than was projected when Treasury officials lowered the official revenue forecast in May.

Overall revenues grew by more than 6 percent over the prior fiscal year.
