The NJGOP is standing up for Garden State parents and kids, but we need your help!
Murphy and Democrats in the New Jersey legislature passed new curriculum changes, set to take effect this fall, at the height of the COVID19 pandemic hoping no one would notice.
After parents and Republican legislators raised concerns with graphic sample curriculum (deemed to meet state standards) that was circulated in the Westfield School District, Governor Phil Murphy, who defended thestandards in 2021, and Senator Vin Gopal, the Chairman of the Senate Education Chairman who co-sponsored the original bill, vowed to “review” the standards.
Since then, not only has the State Board reconvened – and refused to take any action – Gopal’s slapdash “transparency” bill did not even make it online for legislators and the public to view during the latest Education Committee hearing.
The bottom line is that the Democrats’ half-hearted, election year attempts will do nothing to help New Jersey parents who are waiting helplessly to see what bureaucrats will impose on their kids this fall.
To stand up for families, NJGOP’s “Parents Task Force” will use its digital assets and NJGOP Victory Field Team to help identify instances of curriculum overreach and connect concerned parents with their elected officials.
NJGOP Chairman Bob Hugin: “The Parents Taskforce is vital to ensuring that the rights of New Jersey parents are not trampled on by Trenton bureaucrats. We will inform and empower parents to make the best decisions for their children – and hold the Democrats who stand in our way accountable.”
